On the day we found out we would get to play Whistling Straits, you may as well have told a bunch of toddlers that Santa was coming and bringing literally every gift in his toy shop just for them. We all were pumped. So we slept very little, arrived 3 hours early, had a great breakfast and got a long range session in. This was to be Alise Marsh’ SECOND round of 18 holes of golf EVER. Yes, I was a tad nervous, but also knew that if you give that woman a challenge, she will crush. And that she did. First hole: she crushed a tee ball, hit her first ever fescue rescue shot, and her first ever sand shot, both striped. I knew it was gonna be a great day. But there are no words to describe the setting of Whistling Straights, in the fall, on Lake Erie, during sunset (when it was supposed to rain). It ended up being the last warm day Wisconsin would see in 2020.
